Tassel Ridge Winery is nestled in the rolling hills of rural Western Mahaska County. They offer 40 wines including sweet, semi-sweet, or dry and white, rosé, or red — there is a wine for almost every taste and occasion.

Their grapes are grown on four different vineyards, one at Tassel Ridge and another three near Oskaloosa. They grow nine different Northern Climate red and white grape varieties.

Tassel Ridge Winery opened to the public in the spring of 2006 and has since won more than 250 medals in wine competitions.

Tip from the winery: Pick up some delicious food items to pair with your wine once home. Owner Bob Wersen says their gift shop sells jelly, peanut brittle, chocolate bonbons, and chocolate and caramel sauces made with their wine. Stem-ware, decanters, and other wine service items are also available.

The winery offers tastings and tours. Visit during their set hours or schedule an appointment.
